I agree that when a woman realizes that a man is playing games (blowing hot and cold, etc) and there is no clear communication, then she should withdraw immediately because he is not serious and is just toying with her. Also women need to understand that some men will still mess with them even if they don't really like them or envision a future with them, because more benignly they might simply be having fun (like high schoolers think it is a joke to hurt a teacher), or more sinisterly they just want to get their jollies off and then leave her (regardless of the emotional baggage/damage they cause not only to her but to themselves - but most of these types of men are too dense to see that - and the broken families and abandoned children they create). Unlike women who will leave men in peace, if they don’t see a future; men might not leave women they don't really want (to build a future with) alone. This brings me to my next point, ladies never give a man sexual access to you outside of marriage. I know some will say "well men abandon their children and wife, mistreat their wife and children, etc in marriage as well", but that is like saying "well sober people get into accidents all the time, so might as well drive drunk". I think the celibacy movement that is taking traction among women is a very good thing, health-wise and spirituality-wise and happiness-wise. God put a system in place for a reason, because He knows what works for us (He created us males and females), and He knows what will contribute to our happiness and satisfaction and what won't. So be very careful in choosing a partner (and actually pray and ask God to choose for you, and believe me He will reveal to you if a man is good or bad or playing games, so be alert and of a sober mind, don't let your feelings blind you and be content in your singlehood that is God's protection). As for paying for the first date, a man definitely should pay for the first date and do it sincerely. I come from a culture where the men are expected to be the providers of the family, and him not paying during the courting period is a red flag (I think a lot of women need to start using this word because men have twisted the meaning of the word 'dating' to easy sex outside of marriage). Now sure the woman can plan something like a picnic where she cooks or prepares something, but that is later when the relationship is getting established. Now of course real life has a lot more nuances (and both men and women can make some mistakes because they are human, nervous, or inexperienced in what they are feeling). However if he is grudgingly paying and that will usually be accompanied by other red flags and negative energy, then pay attention (he doesn’t really like you). On the other hand, ladies if you go out on a first date and you see that you don't like the man or that there is no chemistry or that you don't envision a future with him, then please insist on paying your part, that way you can part ways with no hurt feelings or expectations on his part. Men should also know that in most cases when a woman insists on paying her share, it is because she is not interested in taking this thing further. Lastly, I agree that men and women for that matter, don't change, and only God can change or fix a human being, so it is not your job as a woman to fix a man and you can't anyways, so save yourself the grief. I know I typed a lot, but I too have some naivete when it comes to these things, so if this post can help anyone avoid heart ache or hurt, then I am satisfied. On a side note: Also ladies you should never chase a man, if he likes you he will show it, you don’t need to chase (the sperm chases the egg, look also at the animal kingdom). You should show him that you are interested, but if he is not getting the obvious hints, or he is getting the hints and playing games, then you should withdraw and save yourself heartache. He is telling you with his actions that he is not that into you. Again trust God with your life, be content in your single hood but open to God’s plan, and you will be good.

I have issue with being light heartedness with it being confused as I will not keep my boundaries up. I had a guy who seemed nice until talking stage, I didn’t meet him, and guilt tripped for not sending him nudes. He literally bombarded with disappointing messages. I kept my boundaries because I don’t even know the other person, haven’t met them. Why would I ever send someone something I am not comfortable with. He kept demanding pictures as if I was his gf even though I was clear to say no and tell him I will meet him first, which I completely dropped it as a idea since he started blaming me for his high libido. Nobody is too busy to take longer than 8-24 hours to reply 6. If he doesn’t insist to pay he asked you out for; men want to provide and protect the woman they like; he’s not an ATM machine only goes for the first date 7. Don’t try to turn someone into a project; fall in love with who he is not what you want him to be; never give attention to people who don’t treat you well 8. Chemistry is overrated 9. Do not play it cool; open communication starts day 1; ask for what you want 10. You deserve people who bring out the best in you; if he brings out the worst in you then he’s not the guy for you 11.
